Hi everyone, i have a wish to use the debian on my already dual booted thinkpad 8gb ram laptop. Currently i have 32gb pendrive is that possible to use that, just by using the pendrive with out making any partition on my ssd. Since, its already lagging for storage. Which iso is best?
32 GB USB stick is enough to run Debian in persistent Live mode or even install a full Debian system onto the USB (like a portable hard disk).
Options:
Live USB with persistence
Use a Live ISO (e.g. XFCE or MATE for light desktop).
Add persistence so changes, updates, and files are saved.
Full installation to USB stick
Treat the USB like a hard disk.
Install Debian onto it during setup.
More flexible, feels like a normal Debian system.
Needs a decent quality USB 3.0 stick for speed.
Which ISO to pick?
XFCE (3.5 GB) – light, fast, best for USB.
MATE (3.6 GB) – also light, a bit heavier than XFCE.
Standard (1.8 GB) – no GUI, you install desktop later (good if you want minimal).
