Job Title: Backend Engineer, Detection Engineering

Location: Chennai (Hybrid)

Years of Experience: 5-10 years

About Anvilogic:

Anvilogic is a Silicon Valley cybersecurity startup building an Agentic
SecOps platform with AI automation across every SOC workload: onboard,
search, detect, and investigate on top of the data and tools you
already have.

What We Expect:

  • Build Python backend services that deploy, schedule and run
    detections across multiple data platforms.
  • Add new detection backends for any data store / data lake (for
    example Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Snowflake), covering query
    execution, schema discovery and data-feed sync.
  • Keep detection runs reliable through retries, timeouts, clear error
    reporting and production monitoring.
  • Write clean, tested code and take part in code reviews.
  • Own features from design to production, working with detection
    engineering, UI, QA and DevOps teams.

Qualification:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering, or
      a related field.

  • Must have:

    • 5-10 years of professional backend development, preferably in
      Python.
    • A solid grasp of REST APIs, data structures, and SQL or another
      query language.
    • Hands-on experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3) or
      another cloud platform.
    • Strong debugging skills and a sense of ownership.
    • Clear communication and comfort working with distributed teams.

  • Nice to have:

    • Experience with search and analytics platforms such as
      Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Snowflake or Splunk.
    • Familiarity with detection rules (SPL, KQL, ES|QL) and MITRE
      ATT&CK.
    • Experience with event-driven architectures (SQS, Kafka), Docker,
      and CI/CD.
    • Exposure to security or SIEM concepts is a plus.
