2021,2022,2023 மாநாடுகளைத் தொடர்ந்து 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டிலும், தமிழின் கட்டற்ற மென்பொருள் மாநாட்டை நடத்தலாம்.

மாநாட்டை ஒருங்கிணைக்க ஆர்வமுள்ளோர், இங்கு பதில் தருக.

மாநாட்டின் நிகழ்வுகள், உரைகள், பயிற்சிப் பட்டறைகள் நடத்த ஆர்வமுள்ளோரும் உங்கள் ஆர்வங்களை எழுதுக.

இணைந்து நடத்த விரும்பும் அமைப்புகள் சார்ந்தோரும் எழுதுக.

மாநாட்டுக்கும் பயிற்சிப் பட்டறைகளுக்கும் இடம் தேவை. தகுந்த இடம் கொடையாகத் தர வாய்ப்பு உள்ள இடங்களையும் பட்டியலிட வேண்டுகிறேன்.

இதுவரையில் SFD//TOSSConf 2024 குறித்து பல்வேறு இணைப்பு மற்றும் தளங்களில் நடந்த உரையாடல் மற்றும் திட்ட வரைவை இவ்விழையின் கீழ் தொகுக்கிறேன்

திட்ட வரைவு:

  1. FossUnitedChennai குழுமத்துடன் இணைந்து வரும் செப்டம்பர் 21 சனிக்கிழமை அன்று காலை 10 மணி முதல் மாலை 5து வரை நிகழ்ச்சிகளை தொகுத்து வழங்குவது
  2. மதியம் ஒன்று முதல் 2 மணி வரை உணவு இடைவேளை. (உணவு ஏற்பாடு மற்றும் உண்ணவுக்கான கட்டணம் வசூலித்தல் பற்றிய உரையாடல்)
  3. FossUnited மூலமாக சென்னை OMR சாலையில் உள்ள Survey Sparrow இந்நாகழ்ச்சிக்கு இடமளிக்க முன்வந்துள்ளது
  4. இதுவரை Software Freedom Day /TOSSConf நிகழ்வில் ஒருமிதமாக கலந்து பணியாற்றிட முன்வந்துள்ள குழுமங்களின் பெயர்பட்டியல்

இதில் இன்னும் ஏதேனும் குழு பெயர் விடுபட்டிருந்தாள் சுட்டிக்காட்டவும். இன்னும் இந்நகழ்ச்சி பற்றி இன்று மாலை 5து மணியளவில் KLUG (Jitsi Meet) வாராந்திர கூட்டத்தில் கலந்துரையாடவிருக்கிறோம். நண்பர்கள், தன்னார்வலர்கள் கலந்துகொண்ட இந்நாகழ்ச்சியை இன்னும் மேம்படுத்த, நோக்கம் சிறப்பிக்க உதவுமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்.

Meeting Notes

  • Yagapriyan asked for T-shirts for co-ordinators. Sakhil mentioned we can explore the option but since this event is not funded so maybe we can get some amount from organizers and have a T-shirt.
  • Vignesh from JSLovers team joined and shared his story on
  • Vignesh searched tech community in chennai for JavaScripts, but not able to find any. He found the founder of JSLovers founder and co-founder.
  • Then he collaborated with them and created a JSLovers chapter chennai.
  • Syed mentioned the difficulty of bringing the crowd. Because lot of people will be signing up but not willing to participate
  • Syed shared a idea to include Installation fest along with explanation of the installation instructions (More like hands-on)
  • The people turn up percentage is unpredictable since many communities are involved.
  • Vignesh suggested to get sponsorship from service sparrow for food, but sakhil suggested will be much to ask but mentioned we can give it a try
  • Parameshwar mentioned it will be good to get some no-show fee to manage the expense
  • Syed mentioned there is another community Tamil cloud we can add, and volunteered to check with them
  • Gold Ayan checked with DEFCON team but their rules are strict so they are not joining for this event.
  • Yagapriyan asked for tasks to do, so the team can actively contribute.
  • CTF like event is in the plan for the event day suggested by Nammahari in the telegram group
  • Gold Ayan suggested to have workshop like events can be done with 3-4 colloborating due to time constraint
  • Lightning talks can be arranged included too
  • Yagapriyan mentioned it will be a theme for the event to have meaningful day like a story included too
  • Syed Jafer suggested the entire event can be conducted with only FOSS/Open source Tools
  • Gold Ayan thought it may be difficult to do strict open source since it may cause discomfort for first time users. But he also mentioned it is possible if we limit the toolkits and good planning
  • IRC can be a good alternative for sending the updates for the events and discuss
  • CTF with multiple levels of difficulty
  • Quizzes can be a good event idea suggested by HariHaran
  • Open source quiz app shared by Syed Jafer - GitHub - garrykevin-ep/Skillet: Django Application for Online Quiz Competition, includes multiple choice questions, true or false, Fill-ups, with Live Leaderboard
  • CTF environment may require more resource and effort to make it happen.
  • As per discussion with everyone we came to a draft plan
  • Language medium can be decided by the speaker between Tamil or English
  • Ticket cost similar to last time can be 200
  • Stickers can be distributed like TossConf2022

Meeting take away

  • Sakhil from Foss United Chennai & Lug volunteer, Justin from Namma flutter, Vignesh from ChennaiJS and Thanga Ayyanar Lug volunteer joined the meeting
  • We came to conclusion, make SFD a half day meetup as FossUnited guys are busy in IndiaFoss.
  • TOSS Conf a one day conference with more activities on Oct 19 (approx) planned to talk to Talentship for venue. (Sakhil)
  • Get sponors for TOSS conf so we can use that amount to print stickers. (Justin)

Here is an update on our recent interactions and communications with various communities and volunteers:

We discussed the possibility of combining the #SFD2024 event with other Linux User groups. However, this approach did not work out. As a result, #SFD2024 will be held as a separate one-day event on September 21st at Survey Sparrow. The #TOSSconf2024 has been rescheduled to October or November and will be conducted in Tamil.

Below is the draft schedule for the #SFD2024 event:

  1. Event Time: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on September 21st
  2. Lunch & Networking: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
  3. Tea/Coffee Break: 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM
  4. CTF Game: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  5. Lightning Talks, Q&A, Networking, Open Stage: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  6. Scheduled Talk/Demo Slots: 6 Talks/Demos, each lasting 30 minutes
